Creating Backgrounds

Creating a wintery background scene today.  Sometimes I raise up the piece slightly as this helps when adding frit.   Frit is small pieces of glass in various thicknesses that allow you to create more dimension and texture.  On the mat is a completed piece where the background was fused at a different temperature. The foreground scene was then added and an additional firing at a lower temp was required to obtain the desired outcome.
