Birth of the Muse
After several years of meeting two especially dear friends at a local studio to create fused glass pieces, the artist felt a calling. After years of dabbling in various art forms as a hobby, including drawing, painting, pottery, pastels, chalk/charcoal the qualities of glass brought a unique opportunity to incorporate these skills. The process was and continues to be fascinating. Glass is unique in its tactile and visual qualities as it is crafted and in its final form.
The deep desire to continue working within this medium was ignited. A studio began to take shape while waiting on the kiln to be delivered. Tools and supplies were purchased. Various types of glass were ordered including sheet glass, frit, vitrigraph, stringers, and murrini. Pieces began to take shape, firing in the kiln began, and glass art was happening! The Glass Muse was born.
Perhaps you've walked through a gallery, purchased a handmade piece of pottery to sip your coffee, or painted canvas with friends. Art is an experience, appreciating what others have created and enjoying the rewards of something made from your own mind's eye. To create with glass brings great joy. It's a joy I hope you, The Glass Muse customer will also experience when purchasing a piece for art or for function.
